Close up of previous: In College, we had photos taken of ourselves and we had to render a lifesized portrait from those photos. The teacher kept encouraging me to do more but I always thought that I had done the best I could. As seen with other portraits I've done recently, I've improved immensely and I finally looked back at it and winced. So I tried again. I like to see the level of improvement every now and again, even with the mistakes in it, I think it came out very well - especially compared with the picture which is VERY washed out and was NOT the teachers first pick for me to work with, however it was the most dynamic of the choices. Currently in the running to see if i take 1st, second or 3rd place - i made it down to three out of 100 artists which I figure isn't bad at all. The "Finish Him" Piece is, appropriately, the last round entry (each round had to have a seperate entry, which is why there are so many. Some I had time to color and some I did not. Even if I didn't win, i considered it a good excersize in practing character sketches for my book.) Halloween is coming and I felt inspired!
